Located on the 24th floor of Goldfields House, this is where long lunches become dinners and one cocktail turns into many, as you take in the 270-degree view of Melbourne’s best.
Matched to the incredible ambiance is the menu – each dish is fresh, and flavorful, keeping the pallet guessing! The incredible menu includes; bluefin tuna tartare served with chili yuzu mayo, rawn ceviche with jalapeño cream, marron and spanner crab pasta, fillet steak, and mac’n’cheese with truffle.
There’s no doubt that the long-awaited rooftop bar has already made its mark on the Melbourne food scene.
I had the pleasure of chatting with Owner of Beverly Rooftop Cameron Northway, to get an insider look at how this Melbourne hot spot ame to be.
Congratulation on opening the doors to the Beverly Rooftop – it’s fast becoming Melbourne’s must-visit! What was the inspiration behind the concept?
I was heavily influenced by the warm and welcoming LA rooftop scene with a vision to bring that vibrant energy above the hustle and bustle of Melbourne City. With a nod to the southern Californian lifestyle and working with a great team of creatives we injected elements of desert modernism to create a space that is unique to South Yarra. A key motivator was to curate a space that fosters a sense of community incorporating honest service and produce with a new perspective of Melbourne.
How would you describe the menu and what can guests expect?
Southern Californian influences with a modern Australian take with a focus on ethically sourced ingredients. The menu is designed to be approachable and versatile whether you’re enjoying drinks and snacks in the bar lounge or a long lunch with friends.
Must have cocktail when visiting Beverly Rooftop?
- Mayahuel: Mayahuel is the goddess of Agave plants. The cocktail comes across the tropical flavours from SE Asia to Latin America. Featuring Tequila infused with market lime, mezcal, Cointreau, lime Juice, salted pineapple agave syrup, and a salt rim.
- The Café Rosso: A twist on the classic negroni offering a complex profile with delightful hints of coffee and a smooth finish. A nod to the prominent café scene Melbourne is renowned for. Featuring aged dark rum, campari-infused coffee beans, amontillado sherry, and sweet vermouth, garnished with orange peel.
