Bondi Sands has been named Official Sunscreen Partner of Australian Open 2021 and all Summer Series events in a new multi-year deal.
“I’m delighted to welcome Bondi Sands to the Australian Open and welcome the bringing together of two brands that evoke the essence of the Australian summer,” Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley said.
“With Bondi Sands at our side we look forward to keeping our fans sunsmart as they make more special summer memories with families and friends at the tennis in 2021.”
Bondi Sands will use the AO as a global platform to promote their newest suncare range, Bondi Sands SPORT SPF50+ Sunscreen and will give away free samples to fans at three satellite Sunscreen Stations across the Melbourne Park precinct.
The SPORT SPF50+ Sunscreen range offers broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection, 4 hours water resistance and sweat resistance for up to 60 minutes. Cool Motion™ Technology allows for high performance protection whilst allowing your skin to sweat, naturally keeping you cool and composed so you can perform at your best.
“As an Australian owned and made brand, this is an incredibly proud moment for the Bondi Sands team to align with the Australian Open. The Australian Open is a fundamental part of the Australian summer and we are excited to be supplying our globally loved sunscreens to all spectators in 2021 to ensure they are all confidently protected from the summer sun throughout the tournament,” Bondi Sands Co-Founder Blair James said.
“The Bondi Sands’ evolution into a global suncare brand is perfectly aligned with the Australian Open in representing Australia on the international stage. We look forward to strengthening this ongoing partnership in the years to come.”
Australian player Daria Gavrilova is also on board as Bondi Sands’ Official Brand Ambassador for the upcoming summer of tennis.
“As a tennis player I’m out in the sun either training or playing for hours on end and I know how important it is to protect my skin, not just during the Australian summer, but all year round,” Gavrilova said.
“I’m so excited to be working with Bondi Sands and promoting the new SPORT SPF50+ Sunscreen, which gives me great protection and doesn’t wear off when I work up a sweat. It’s a great addition to both my tennis bag for work, and my beach bag for days off. I’m very happy it’s going to be on hand to keep everyone at the AO sunsmart.”
Australian Open 2021, supported by major partner Kia Motors in association with Emirates, Luzhou Laojiao and Rolex, will take place at Melbourne Park from 8-21 February. Visit ausopen.com for more information.
