And that’s a warp!
Well the past week has certainly been all about fashion in Melbourne.
Once again the team at Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival have outdone themselves with what can only be described as runway magic night after night.
From the bold to the romantic – designers created looks to inspire, to fall in love with and to make us fashionistas very excited about the season ahead.
While there were many looks to love, there were three particular trends that captured my attention….
Bold and strong
A trend very fitting for the colder season ahead – the bolder looks gave us; darker hues, mixture of textures, and a play on those ‘girl boss’ outfits that will make any boardroom stand up and pay attention.
Tones of moroon, black and orange were key players – along with mixing up the boldness of leather, with the softness of silk and fringe.
Colour magic
While generally as soon as the sun comes down Melbourne goes into the black and grey mode – this season it’s all about colours and colour blocking.
Whether it’s a striking red, bubblegum pink or rich emerald, the colour trend is no longer just for summer.
The Romantics
You couldn’t help buy fall madly in love with these white and pastel tones.
I absolutely loved the play on texture with sequins, fringes, ruffles and embroidery – making each garment more than just an outfit, but a work of art.
If there is one thing that has always been true, it’s that fashion, like most art is very reflective on the times and the moods around.
This week we saw the perfect balance of feminine softness, brave boldness and a whole of colourful fun – making it very exciting to see the transition from runway to streetstyle.
