Let’s face it, when it comes to cool new hot spots, Brighton isn’t really the first suburb that comes to mind – but that’s all about to change…
Amongst the quiet, and somewhat placid Bay Street, a new vibrant bar is making it’s mark with tantalising cocktails, mouthwatering dishes and a vibe to awaken any night of the week.
I first stumbled upon this little gem while strolling down a street that had been completely familiar for years- what immediately grabs your attention is the name.
When sitting down with the teams I couldn’t help but ask who are the mysterious Mr & Mrs P and how did this concept come about?
Greg and Georgia Poliwodzinski are Mr & Mrs P.
The concept of the venue and all that it encompasses is an extension of their love for each other, and the world of hospitality.
They love connecting with people and aim to do so through their venue, personalizing the experience every step of the way
While one would expects a bar of this nature to pop up in the likes of Windsor or Fritzroy, I was curious to find out why Brighton became the chosen location?
“Greg and Georgia carefully chose this Bayside location to fill a gap that they felt existed in the Brighton area. The locals have been craving a venue of this calibre to hit the street, and Mr & Mrs P has been welcomed with open arms.”
“Whether it’s a glass of wine from their lovingly crafted wine list, or a unique cocktail, Mr & Mrs P’s drinks menu is something you can spend some time sampling.”
Every bar had a signature cocktail and dish – Mr and Mrs P are no exception….
The signature cocktail is fittingly the Mr & Mrs P, which is a martini style white chocolate and passionfruit concoction
But it’s not all about the cocktails – the menu reads like a dream, and tastes even better…
“Greg and Georgia have teamed up with Matthew Butcher (from Morris Jones & Co) who has created a delicious grazing menu. The menu is built upon a charcuterie selection where a chef will freshly prepare a grazing board right in front of you at the bar.
Followed by smaller and larger sharing dishes, all designed to enhance your experience in this beautifully designed bar.”
The signature dish is the AACo Crossbred Wagyu beef served on buttered risoni with green goddess dressing
There’s no denying that Mr and Mrs P is the breath of fresh air Brighton has been longing for – and they are just getting started…
“Greg and Georgia’s hopes for the future are to continuously grow, expand, and do what they love.”
Mr & Mrs P believes in giving back to the community, and hopes to continue incorporating charity work into they do
This April, the team at Mr & Mrs P will be participating in the 100km Oxfam Trailwalker to raise money for poverty.
It may be the new kid on the block but with great style, flavours and the community spirits Brighton has always been known for, something tells me Mr & Mrs P is staying put
